  in this thread i mentioned having a long chat with an elder last summer.

  i didn't realize i had never posted the story, so here it is.. last summer (when i went to buy my new camera lens) i ran into one of my favorite jws at the photography shop.

  he was buying a camera bag for his new dslr, and i saw him, went up and greeted him, hugged him.

  Your numbered realizations are very interesting and totally spot on. It's so strange to talk to a JW after years away from the lingo and indoctrination - la la land, anyone?

  "They're just men" was always my mama's favorite phrase, too. I like Kenzei's response to that - definitely will keep that in mind.

  i have been here only a while, but i do appreciate the place, i see there are many honest hearted persons here, that like me are good people, who help with the mirad of issues that arise from years of controling stresses from the jw.. many times i feel the flashbacks, when i read the thoughts of others, it helps alot to know there are others like me , i no longer feel so alone!.

  well, i'm here at the convention, and boy is it a dozer.

  all the speakers blur together - they all sound like the same exact person with their superficial emphasis on the "key points.

  " today was a tad juicy, with the "stay away from the demon-enhanced apostates" symposium and the "you don't need an education to scrub toilets, jerk" talk as well.
